About the author Hein Pragt
My name is Hein Pragt (Heinrich Maria Pragt) and I was born on the 5th of March 1959 in the small village Bargercompascuum in the Northeast part of the Netherlands in Drenthe, where I have lived for 18 years with my parents who owned their own shop and car repair. I am a single father and I have been living in Veenendaal for several years. I have four sons, Robert, Rick, René and Raoul from my first marriage and a young daughter Romy from my second marriage. Together with the children, I have a cozy home for everyone and as long as I know how many people I have to cook for it is good for me. I work as a software engineer for the government and in my free time I write a lot of articles in the area of psychology, philosophy, love, culture, spirituality and technology for my own Internet sites and third parties. I also play keys (organ, piano, synth) and guitar and I like to read a lot. I can wander trough a bookstore for hours and I enjoy culture and cultural events. I also am involved with the world around me have clear and strong opinions. Honesty, reliability, respect and above all integrity are very important to me, I am also very socially committed. These things I try to share with my children. I am very proud of all my children, each in his or her own way.
I do not live to work even though I have a good job. I'm not into expensive things and fashion, but work to live, because the people I care about are the most important to me. To create a loving and cozy home for myself and the people I love is the most important to me and I enjoy doing the simple things with the people I love. I try to be a man of integrity and I read a lot about Buddhism and that comes very close to my beliefs. Doing good, being honest and have no envy and hate and try to spread positivity. I also love animals, as a child we had a lot of animals at home in the form of rabbits, chickens, turkeys, pigeons and cats and dogs. I also grew up in a farming village where I was often to be found on the farm. Nowadays I have rabbits, chickens and cats in and around my home and my children love animals too.
About my firstname: Hein
My firstname is Hein, I was named after my grandfather, and I like my name. My name is very difficult to pronounce in English, most of the time it sounds like Hayn, as the English do not use the sound of the Dutch ei.
The meaning of the name Hein is the master of the residence, high-born and its an old Germanic name. Names with heim (home, yard) are very common in the old Germanic culture.
Zodiac sign of Pisces
Mysterious and alluring individuals, most Pisces are extremely talented, but even though they are gifted in many ways, they still manage to spend most of their lives battling "confusing" conditions. Pisces is the sign symbolised by the image of two fish. Their symbol depicts one fish heading upward, the other pulling downward. This mirrors how Pisceans are frequently torn between two pathways in life, or actually do live two very different existences at the same time.
The number 2, is a very powerful number for them. This zodiac sign is acknowledged as being the Saint and the Sinner rolled into one; the trendsetter of fashion or art, the lost soul, the philosopher and the psychotic and the visionary. As a credit to them, considering their many vulnerable characteristics; Pisceans are incredibly adaptable and resilient. They are to be found leading the field in many diverse areas of life and many Pisces can be found represented amongst top business millionaires. On the other side of the coin, prisons, reform schools and all kinds of institutions statistically hold a high number of Pisceans too.
The Piscean's inner quest to explore their "ivory tower" syndrome can lead them into some most unusual and unlikely living conditions. Of all the signs of the zodiac, Pisces are the ones who end up in the most muddles over the years of their lives. They fantasize about situations, people and particularly romance - and because they spend so much time in their own form of 'fantasy land' this can catch them short in other more worldly areas. Because of this inner world of fantasy, Pisces people seldom perceive whatever is going on around them in its true light. They see life instead as they want to see it, coloring their view of the world in hues and tones far removed from its true reflection. No wonder this is the sign of both miracles and disillusionment. If you are a Pisces, be warned your emotions are a weak spot.
One thing that plays havoc with your life is romance. When things romantically are going well for you, you are on cloud nine. When romance turns sour you land in a heap. Pisces often need to take lots of holidays (or time off) to recover from life's many diverse pressures. You are the zodiac's most sensitive sign, so you need to take extra special care of yourself. Nobody can beat you up, as much as you can beat yourself up within your own mind. In your purest form you are psychic, visionary and a guiding light to all who know you. But, in your "out of tune" state, you become depressed, obsessive and confused.
My Ascendant is Cancer
With Cancer rising, you are sensitive and kind, but wary of those you first meet. You like to feel out a situation, before deciding what to do, and it takes awhile before you drop your guard down. You have a vulnerable look that makes others want to shield you. And you're very nurturing toward friends and family, when you feel safe. You have a loony sense of humor and are able to read people and know what's really going on. This gives you the ability to intuit when to speak or act and exactly what to say. This emotional intelligence makes you the kind of communicator that makes a deep impact. You know how to reach the hearts of others, when you're at your best. Your imaginative gifts can be applied in the arts, or you may enter one of the healing professions. If you've suffered and lost trust in people, you can be defensive to the extreme. By nature, you deal with strong moods that change constantly. You often lose your perspective, when you're enveloped by your own emotions. But that vivid response to life is what also makes you so endearing.
Mijn enneagram type
The Enneagram is an ancient model, the name in Greek means both "nine points" but also "movement". People think it goes back to the Middle East several thousand years ago. However, it is still a useful method to get some insight into your personality. The Enneagram describes nine different types of people, they are distinguished by patterns in their thinking, feeling and doing. The Enneagram tells you something about your strengths and weaknesses, and your motives. It would be a bit too simplistic to classify all people in nine types, there are also subtypes. Almost nobody is a "pure" type, most people are a mixture of two types of the Enneagram. The second type into the mix is called the wing. The wing is one of the two sides of your base type on the circumference of the Enneagram. People therefore consist of one main type and to a lesser extent, also a sub-type.
I am a Type 2W3, wich means that I'm mostly a two with some charactristics of the three, but also in the 2W1 score is pretty high so I have parts of this type as well. Here are the descriptions of these types of the Enneagram.
Enneagram type 2: The helper (Main type)
Bacause people of this type have so many facets, love is difficult to define. It means different things to different people in different kinds of relationships. The word can be used to cover a multitude of virtues as well as vices. Of all the personality types, Twos think of love in terms of having positive feelings for others, of taking care of others, and of self-sacrifice. These aspects of love are undoubtedly important parts of the picture. But what Twos do not always remember is that, at its highest, love is more closely aligned with realism than with feelings. Genuine love wants what is best for the other, even if it means risking the relationship. Love wants the beloved to become strong and independent, even if it means that the Two must withdraw from the other's life. Real love is never used to obtain from others what they would not freely give. People who are twos believe deeply in the power of love as the prime source of everything good in life, and in many ways, they are right. Although Twos have strong feelings for others, they have potential problems with their feelings. They tend to overexpress how positively they feel about others, while ignoring their negative feelings altogether. They see themselves as loving, caring people, yet all too often they love others only to have others love them in return. Their "love" is not free: expectations of repayment are attached. Twos are often hampered in their ability to truly love others because their self-image is highly invested in having only certain positive feelings for people, and not having other, "unpleasant" feelings. Healthy Twos, however, are the most considerate and genuinely loving of all the personality types. Because they have strong feelings and sincerely care about others, they go out of their way to help people, doing real good and serving real needs.
Enneagramtype 3, The Achiever (This I have to a lesser extent!)
Threes are self-assured, attractive, and charming. Ambitious, competent, and energetic, they can also be status-conscious and highly driven for advancement. They are diplomatic and poised, but can also be overly concerned with their image and what others think of them. They typically have problems with workaholism and competitiveness. At their Best: self-accepting, authentic, everything they seem to be—role models who inspire others.
Enneagramtype 1 - The Reformer (This I have to a lesser extent!)
Ones are conscientious and ethical, with a strong sense of right and wrong. They are teachers, crusaders, and advocates for change: always striving to improve things, but afraid of making a mistake. Well-organized, orderly, and fastidious, they try to maintain high standards, but can slip into being critical and perfectionistic. They typically have problems with resentment and impatience. At their Best: wise, discerning, realistic, and noble. Can be morally heroic.
I play keys (organ, piano, synths) and also guitar and I used to be a singing. From the age of about 8 years old, I had several years of classical organ lessons and I really wanted to play the church organ. But because this was a small town the church organ was only reserved for one family, so I never got the play this organ. When I was 14 years old, I started a neighborhood band playing the piano and then I also learned th play the guitar. Since that time I have about 30 years of playing music in various bands and as a single performer. My first professional band was the band Shamrock from Emmen. When I joined this band I was still in highschool and after half a year I got the choice (because I slept too much in class) to continue school or to become a professional musician. So I chose the music and I have never had any regrets. I have been a professional musician until I was 24 years old and it was a nice experience with many ups and downs. When I was 24 years old I had another disappointing experience with a band and then I decided to give up the profession. I went back to study and since then I always played in hobby or semi - professional bands beside my regular job. Most of the bands I played in were very commercial and it was usually not the music I listen to private. If the customer paid I would play any music, this is very good for your musical experience because you can play almost everything after several years. I've done this many, many years with great pleasure.
